The project for development of intracavity acusto-optical Q-switches was launched.
The project for development of intracavity acusto-optical Q-switches for solid state lasers and modulators for signal optics was launched. Preliminary studies have shown that high-resistance KTP crystal has a higher coefficient of acousto-optical quality (M2) and high speed of acoustic wave propagation, then in fused quartz that is often used in acusto-optics Q-switches. These properties indicate perspective of using a high-resistance KTP crystal in intracavity acousto-optic Q-swithes.
Piezoelectric properties of high-resistance KTP crystal permit to use methods of wave excitation from the surface of elements, used in broadband acousto-optic modulators for signal processors of microwave technique and radio electronics.
